Dashboard cameras can come in handy when you want to capture something on the road that others might find unbelievable or to defend yourself against potential road hazards. In the instance of a certain Alfa Romeo, both those purposes were fulfilled. The 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 owned by Iliya Bridan and his twin brother Nikita gained widespread attention when a dashcam video, filmed by Jamie Evans, caught the vintage car slipping off a flatbed trailer onto the road. Moving forward to the present day, the Bridan brothers transformed the Alfa into an off-road vehicle and brought it to Hoonigan’s Donut Garage for the latest episode of Daily Transmission, where they encountered even more unfortunate incidents.
In a YouTube video posted on his personal channel, Iliya Briden criticized the American Automobile Association (AAA). He alleged that AAA dropped their Alfa and dismissed all their requests for assistance. According to Bridan, AAA stated over the phone that “the car reached its destination, so the towing fee could not be refunded.”
After being abandoned by AAA without any resolution, the Briden brothers opted to transform the 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 into an off-road machine. The Hoonigans were given a tour of the Alfa, and Iliya explained that the concept emerged after a few drinks. The Alfa now sports 14-inch rugged UTV tires, proudly displaying the damage acquired during the flatbed mishap.
The Hoonigans convinced Iliya Briden to leap the Alfa, leading to a series of unfortunate events. They arranged ramps that had been used for jumping various vehicles, from trophy trucks to the Hoonigans’ own Miata creation. The initial jump by Iliya went smoothly, but during the second jump, the oil pan shattered completely, causing him to lose control and collide with the Donut Garage’s fence due to brake failure. A less than ideal conclusion to the car’s first public appearance following the towing mishap.
Don’t miss the latest episode of Hoonigan’s Daily Transmission to witness the destruction of the Alfa Romeo.
