John Cena, the iconic wrestler and star of the Fast & Furious movie series, isn’t just a car aficionado on the big screen – he embodies it in his daily life as well. A surprise to many, Cena shared on a podcast that he drives a Honda Civic Type R as his daily vehicle.

“My everyday ride is a [Honda] Civic Type R. It comes equipped with the latest technology, a manual transmission, and is known for its reliability,” commented Cena during a segment of Andrew Santino’s show Whiskey Ginger. “It’s a 2020 model, features a third pedal, and remains steady even at speeds of 145 mph. I can comfortably seat passengers in the back, making it a versatile choice.”

“If you carry a purse in a [Lamborghini] Countach, you’re in trouble,” Cena added. “They are a bit rugged. The clutch is challenging, making it difficult to operate smoothly. Constant visits to the repair shop due to various leaks are common.”

“Hence, for longer journeys exceeding 10 miles, I prefer the Civic,” he concluded.

It remains uncertain if Cena’s remarks about the Countach are based on personal ownership, as he has had other luxury cars in his possession. His garage has hosted a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and a 2017 Ford GT, the resale of which led to a legal dispute with Ford, ultimately resolved through an undisclosed settlement.

Cena’s car preferences extend beyond just exotics, as GQ showcases his diverse range, including classic American muscle cars, a Jeep Wrangler, and a Lincoln Continental where Cena reportedly resided before hitting the big time. Similarly, his co-star from the Fast & Furious franchise, Ludacris, holds onto a high-mileage 1993 Acura Legend he bought before achieving fame. These vehicles likely serve as reminders of their humble beginnings and offer a nostalgic glimpse into automotive eras of the past.

For car enthusiasts, there’s an abundance of car-related content in this Whiskey Ginger episode. Those curious to hear Cena’s enthusiasm for a specific Triumph can skip to 1:06:20.
