Frequent internet users may have noticed that the Ford Mustang has developed a reputation for being somewhat accident-prone, particularly in situations involving snap-oversteer and loss of control. However, this perception is largely inaccurate. At The Drive, we attribute such incidents to driver error rather than faults with the vehicle, as it’s unlikely for a Ford Mustang to lose control and veer into a crowd without an inexperienced driver at the wheel.
Nonetheless, the Mustang’s reputation for mishaps will likely continue, especially with new footage like a recent video circulating online. This particular clip shows a fifth-generation Mustang colliding with the edge of a Lamborghini dealership’s parking lot.
The YouTube video, uploaded on March 11th, captures a black Ford Mustang with Texas license plates as it exits the Lamborghini dealership, filmed by a trailing vehicle. As the Mustang encounters the wet road, the driver accelerates, causing the rear to slide out dramatically. Unfortunately, the situation takes a turn for the worse: the driver overcorrects twice, losing control and crashing over the curb into some construction fencing at the edge of the dealership, narrowly avoiding several vehicles including a Corvette Z06, a Cadillac Escalade, a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and, somewhat ironically, another Ford Mustang.
Fortunately, the driver emerged unharmed, and the vehicle sustained only superficial damage, as noted in the video description.
