Volvo is set to distribute $2 million worth of its vehicle lineup in the event a team manages to achieve a safety during the upcoming Super Bowl on February 7. As a bonus, individuals can participate by engaging with the online configurator available here and selecting the brand-new Volvo model they desire to win.

A safety represents a relatively uncommon scoring method in football, and it involves a set of actions that are less conventional compared to the typical methods of advancing the ball into the opposing team’s end zone. When an offensive team is tackled, loses possession, fumbles the ball, or commits a penalty in their own end zone, the opposing team is rewarded with two points. Subsequently, the defense gains possession via a free kick. (For those who prefer visual demonstrations, here is a video compilation showcasing safeties from the previous college football season.)

Volvo

Known for its dedication to automotive safety, Volvo is reintroducing the Volvo Safety Sunday competition during the Super Bowl. In the previous year, a pledge of $1 million worth of Volvo vehicles was made to commemorate the million lives saved by three-point seatbelts, but no safety was recorded during the Super Bowl. This year, the new initiative, dubbed “A Million More,” promises $2 million in vehicle prizes.

Participating is, understandably, an activity many enjoy indulging in for amusement on this platform. Individuals can visit VolvoSafetySunday.com, configure a 2021 Volvo model using the online tool linked on the webpage, and submit their entry to Volvo by clicking the “Try to win this Volvo” option on the summary page for a chance to win. If a specific Volvo model is not chosen, there’s an option to take a brief quiz to identify a suitable Volvo match and enter for a chance to win.

Submissions are currently open and will continue until the commencement of the Super Bowl on February 7. If a safety occurs, $2 million worth of winning entries will be randomly selected. Regrettably, a second safety will not lead to an increase in the prize pool.

Winners will receive the most closely matching vehicle configuration available in the U.S. to their online selection, providing a rare opportunity to select their prize vehicle. As Volvo manages the giveaway directly, receiving the awarded vehicle should be a seamless process for the fortunate winners. Best of luck!
