Jeep has long been known for its rugged and utilitarian off-road vehicles, but recently, the brand has stepped outside its usual domain. Following the powerful 475-horsepower Grand Cherokee SRT, Jeep has introduced the striking 707-horsepower Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, equipped with a Hellcat engine, designed to challenge sports car enthusiasts at traffic lights.
The Trackhawk features an eight-speed automatic transmission, propelling it from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 MPH, and completing the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds. It’s hard to believe this is a Jeep!
In addition to its speed, the Trackhawk has a towing capacity of up to 7,200 pounds.
Unlike its Dodge counterparts, the Challenger and Charger Hellcats, the Trackhawk delivers power to all four wheels. The all-wheel-drive system adjusts power distribution based on the selected driving mode: 40/60 front/rear for normal conditions, 30/70 for a sportier feel, and 50/50 for winter driving.
The Trackhawk is fitted with 295 tires on all corners and features impressive 15.75-inch Brembo brakes in the front and 13.73-inch brakes in the rear, allowing it to come to a halt from high speeds within 114 feet.
While the pricing for the Trackhawk hasn’t been officially announced, with the Grand Cherokee SRT priced around $65,000, it’s anticipated that the Trackhawk will start near $80,000.
More details on the Trackhawk are expected to be unveiled when it makes its appearance at the New York International Auto Show next week..
