What has Voltex been working on? Over the years, many modified R35 GT-Rs have caught our attention, showcasing a variety of designs such as a complete carbon fiber street car, an LS-swapped pro-drift version, and even a drag racer boasting 2,000 horsepower. However, nothing quite compares to what this tuning house is currently developing.
Last month, Voltex Racing shared a striking image on their official Instagram account with the caption “GT-R project.” The rendering reveals new aerodynamic components crafted from dry carbon fiber. The notably wide front fenders house large ducts that extend almost to the doors, while the rear fenders exhibit sharp lines that lead to an oversized rear diffuser. To top it off, a large GT wing is mounted on the rear chassis. The only recognizable feature of this car as a GT-R may be its distinctive roofline.
Following this post, Voltex revealed two additional teaser images. The first displays a complete front-end design for the GT-R, which seems to unify the hood, front bumper, fenders, and even headlights into a single lightweight clamshell design.
In the second image, it appears the hood design may not actually be a clamshell, as a clearer view of the hood vent is revealed. Voltex has kept the details of this build secret for now, but it is evident that this project is something truly unique.
The recent snippets from Voltex have even piqued the interest of renowned 3D artist Jon Sibal, who earlier this week shared two of his own illustrations of the R35 GT-R designed for time attack:
“@voltexracing has one of the most astonishing R35 GT-R designs I’ve seen, so I just had to create my own 3D rendering of it.”
