Underground Racing Achieves New Record with Lamborghini Huracán

Located in Charlotte, NC, Underground Racing specializes in tuning exotic cars, particularly equipping them with twin turbo setups. Their expertise covers a variety of high-performance vehicles, including Ferraris, Audi R8s, and Dodge Vipers, but they are most renowned for their twin turbo modifications on Lamborghinis.

Previously, this tuner shop held several half-mile records, and recently, they surpassed their own achievement by reaching an astonishing speed of 256.99 mph in a half-mile run during a SHIFT S3CTOR event, officially claiming the title of the World’s Fastest Half-Mile Street Car.

Driven by Gidi Chamdi, the record-breaking vehicle was a 2015 Lamborghini Huracán owned by Mohammad of Drag965.

Underground Racing provides a variety of Twin Turbo packages for the Huracán. Their entry-level setup produces 800 whp on 93 octane pump gas and costs $49,000, while the Stage 3 setup, requiring engine modifications, boosts the output to 1000 whp on 93 octane and 1250 whp on race gas for $99,000. Both options come with a two-year or 24,000-mile warranty. They also offer the X Version Twin Turbo setup, which requires extensive engine modifications, delivering 1200 whp on 93 octane and over 2200 whp with race fuel; interested customers must call for pricing details. It is likely that the record-setting Huracán was outfitted with a variant of this high-performance X Version package.

As Underground Racing pushes the boundaries of speed, they are expected to make further enhancements to the car and aim for new records in the future.
