Tracy Morgan’s New $2M Bugatti Veyron Involved in Accident Minutes After Purchase

Imagine acquiring a brand-new car—well, at least new to you—and just as you climb in for that first exhilarating drive, an accident disrupts the moment. This scenario became a reality for Tracy Morgan, who recently took ownership of a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport, valued at approximately $2 million.

The 50-year-old actor and comedian had just left the dealership and merged onto the busy streets of Manhattan when a silver Honda CR-V collided with the driver’s side of the luxury vehicle. The incident quickly attracted attention, with bystanders capturing the moments on their smartphones.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the driver of the Honda, allegedly distracted by their phone and hailing from New Jersey, may have caused the crash; however, the NYPD reported that no charges were filed against the Honda driver.

“They said he literally got the car an hour ago and paid $2 million for it,” recounted one witness to Page Six. “He just bought it, and now it’s pretty scraped up.”

The collision occurred around 1:37 p.m. at the intersection of 42nd Street and 10th Avenue, a bustling area in Midtown Manhattan. Reports suggest that Morgan was positioned in the outer lane when the Honda attempted a right turn from the left lane.

Frank Pica, a sales consultant at Manhattan Motorcars, expressed disbelief when he received the news. “When I got the phone call, I said, ‘That’s Tracy’s car?’ I couldn’t believe it. That was its maiden voyage. Those cars are incredibly rare, and it’s usually over two million dollars with the top down.”

Despite the outpouring of sympathy for Morgan’s unfortunate situation on social media, some users criticized him, suggesting he should avoid driving, likely referencing a past incident in 2014 when a truck driver’s negligence led to a serious crash involving Morgan’s limousine.

Morgan’s publicist, Lewis Jay, reassured fans, stating, “Tracy is doing fine and in no pain. Yes, he had just purchased the car and was driving when the other vehicle hit it.”

The actor later took to Twitter to confirm his well-being but expressed frustration about the incident involving his new car.

“Thanks for any concern but I am totally fine. My NEW CAR? We shall see. Love you all,” Morgan tweeted.
