Although Toyota may not be the first brand that comes to mind when discussing online gaming, a recent alliance with the Overwatch League is changing that perception. The Toyota brand has announced its role as a North American launch partner for the inaugural season of this new esports league, marking the first collaboration between the automaker and any esports entity.
In this partnership, Toyota and the Overwatch League will create a behind-the-scenes series called “Access Granted.” This series will offer viewers an exclusive glimpse into the lives of esports athletes.
Produced by Blizzard Entertainment’s MLG division, Access Granted will showcase clips from live esports matches, featuring competitors traveling in Toyota vehicles to and from their games. All regular season matches for the Overwatch League will be held at Blizzard Arena in Los Angeles.
Alongside the production of Access Granted, Toyota will have a physical presence at Blizzard Arena during the event, promoting the 2018 Toyota C-HR. The company will also place advertisements highlighting both its vehicles and the Overwatch League.
The inaugural season of the Overwatch League kicked off earlier this month, featuring twelve franchises from cities across Europe, North America, and Asia competing against each other. The first four days of the season were a sell-out success. For those interested in catching the action live, it can be streamed at https://overwatchleague.com/en-us/.
Everyone at our Toyota dealership is excited about this partnership between the Toyota brand and the Overwatch League. To discover why the 2018 Toyota C-HR is an ideal match for promoting this new esports league, visit MotorWorld Toyota today.
