In case emergency responders and government authorities cannot attend Torc’s location, Torc will transport self-driving truck technology to them, specifically in Texas!

From May 6 to May 9, 2024, Torc journeyed through the Texan roads, making stops in Ft. Worth, Austin, and San Antonio. Using a mobile, uniquely designed event trailer as our on-the-go venue and our ADS-equipped Freightliner Cascadia, Torc welcomed more than two hundred emergency responders, transportation specialists, and members of the public safety community. The week was marked by inspiring dialogues regarding self-driving trucking and Torc’s guides for interacting with first responders, while highlighting Torc’s dedication to safety and advancement.

Delve into Torc’s First Responder Manual, offering guidance on how emergency responders can effectively engage with our vehicles. Further details about the First Responder Manual can be accessed here.

This tour represented a crucial occasion to communicate Torc’s vision and offer attendees a hands-on encounter with our cutting-edge long-distance trucking technologies. Visitors had the chance to step inside the truck cabin, observe the controls, and gain insights into the sensors, cameras, and software that form our autonomous driving system. Significantly, it facilitated enlightenment about the impending era, addressing inquiries, presenting facts, and elucidating how autonomy will revolutionize freight transportation.

Watch the video below for a summary of the event and additional insights from Michelle Chaka, Torc’s Senior VP of Safety and Regulatory.
