Getting off the beaten path in a genuine 4×4 vehicle can sometimes feel too effortless, especially with all the advanced technology present in modern SUVs. The trendsetting, thrill-seeking crowd is now opting for enhanced family haulers for adventures to the dunes and beyond. If you aspire to be part of this trendy crowd, then this safari-themed Honda Civic might just be the ticket for you.

Presented on Facebook Marketplace, this project originated from a 2002 Honda Civic Si. This nimble sport compact underwent a tough transformation embracing all the classic safari elements. It flaunts a 1.5-inch lift for added ground clearance, adorned with rugged Yokohama Geolandar tires mounted on sturdy steel wheels. The flares enhance the appearance of the chunky tires and conceal the necessary modifications in the fender openings. Additionally, a snorkel is installed to ensure the engine’s survival during questionable water crossings.

This safari-themed transformation excels in every visual aspect. It sports a roof rack, equipped with an array of spotlights illuminating both the front and rear. Furthermore, a robust bash bar is mounted on the front bumper, accompanied by six additional lights. According to the owner, this Civic “creates its own daylight,” a claim we find quite intriguing. The lighting system appears to be accurately connected, thanks to an Auxbeam switch panel, a detail often overlooked in typical DIY projects.
