Lexus is impressing at SEMA with a powerful sedan that embodies aggression, performance, and extravagance. All that’s missing is a commercial version to complement it.

The DSPORT IS 600+ transformation originated from an IS 350 F Sport. Originally equipped with a respectable 311-hp V6 engine, this build opted for the muscular V35A 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, borrowed from the LS 500. With a stock output of 416 hp, enhancements like upgraded turbos, increased boost, and E85 fuel tuning pushed this build to over 600 hp.

To effectively transmit that power, a Samsonas full-sequential six-speed gearbox has been employed. This paddle-shifted transmission is seamlessly integrated into the Emtron engine management system for precision control.

Purposed for track applications, the chassis has been fortified with a four-point roll cage. Not only does this safeguard the occupants, but it also fortifies the chassis for enhanced handling. The interior features Sparco seats and harnesses to match its performance aspirations, with rear seats removed to reduce weight. Swapping out the stock suspension for KW double-adjustable coilovers and fitting the Lexus RC F’s carbon brake kit aids the IS 600+ in shedding speed during braking without compromise.

Externally, the IS 600+ flaunts a personalized paint finish utilizing Lexus’s original color palette. Sporting an assertive two-tone appearance with a white primary coat, additional styling elements include a black carbon fiber hood and trunk, complemented by prominent contrasting stripes and body accents. Furthermore, a sizable rear wing completes the aesthetic cohesion. The vehicle sits on Volk Racing wheels ensconced in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, smartly fitting within the Artisan Spirits widebody kit’s expanded wheel arches.

The IS 600+ model is just one example of several versions Lexus showcased at SEMA. Other models include the GX 460 Overland Concept with a stunning flipcolor finish, and the Lexus Electrified Sport concept that illustrates the company’s electric vehicle aspirations. As anticipated, the remainder of the brand’s presentation comprises SUVs, such as two LX 600 prototypes and the RS 500h F Sport.

The IS 600+ display demonstrates the impressive nature of a performance-focused, track-tuned Lexus. Who wouldn’t be thrilled to witness the Japanese automaker taking on the Nürburgring, competing for lap times with Porsche’s array of GT3 and GT4 track-focused models? Count us in.
