Once again, a prototype of the next LaFerrari has been sighted in Maranello. Nevertheless, on this occasion, the camouflaged test model was observed flaunting its pre-production bodywork, disclosing numerous design elements.
Upon examining the most recent spy shots, it seems that the LaFerrari replacement (code-named: F250) will showcase a traditional mid-engined layout with broad fenders and a slim, teardrop-shaped canopy. The frontal appearance is reminiscent of the SF90 XX Stradale. It comprises a low, aggressive splitter with extensive cooling openings for the radiators on both sides. The middle section seems to function as an intake for the S-duct.
Turning to the side, the door panels feature a substantial undercut similar to Ferrari’s most recent Formula 1 vehicle. This design facilitates air passage through the wheel arches and alongside the car’s sides, while the extensive floor area channels it into a duct just before the rear wheels. The purpose of this air, whether for diffuser feeding or engine cooling, remains to be determined.
Noteworthy is the diffuser, a prominent aerodynamic element of the vehicle. It includes a central exhaust surrounded by horizontal LED tail lights. Additionally, the airflow passing over the cabin is released through a pathway just above the exhaust. The rear spoiler could incorporate an active element, although verification from these images is challenging.
Anticipated to run on a hybrid powertrain, Ferrari’s upcoming flagship hypercar is unlikely to feature a V12 engine. Instead, the F250 is anticipated to be driven by a smaller twin-turbo powerplant.
The Ferrari F250 is set to be revealed in the latter half of 2024 and will be manufactured in limited quantities.
