Since the reveal of their Olympic ensemble earlier this month, all eyes have been fixed on Team Mongolia.
While typical Olympic attire prioritizes comfort and functionality—encompassing lightweight tracksuits with water-resistant properties, sweatpants, and sneakers—Michel&Amazonka, the design duo based in Mongolia behind Team Mongolia’s uniforms, intertwined cultural elements within their opening and closing costumes.

The loose-fitting vests adorned with high collars were matched with Mongolian “gutals,” boots with upturned toes traditionally worn for equestrian and wrestling activities. The garments, embellished accessories, and pouches boasted shades of red, white, and blue, mirroring the hues of the Mongolian flag. Tributes to the Olympic flame, rings, and the Soyombo symbol—the national emblem of Mongolia—were intricately incorporated in the golden embroidery.
Michel&Amazonka also gave a new twist to the classic Mongol Deel, a lengthy, tunic-like garment complemented with a sash and belt, in white with opulent gold embroidery, accented by a blue collar.
This isn’t the first time the brand has handled such projects: Michel&Amazonka previously curated the Olympic attire for Team Mongolia during the 2022 Winter Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
