The Lotus Emira, replacing the Evora, Exige, and Elise, promises a thrilling driving experience. A lightweight, mid-engined design with the option of a manual gearbox make it an ideal sports car. Lotus will introduce the Emira V6 First Edition, powered by the beloved 3.5-liter V6 engine from the Evora, priced at $93,900.
This makes it slightly more affordable than the 2021 Lotus Evora GT, which starts at $99,150 including destination charges. The Emira V6 First Edition is claimed to produce 400horsepower, featuring hydraulic-assisted steering and a six-speed manual gearbox with partially exposed linkages. An Edelbrock supercharger boosts its power output. The overall package sounds incredibly impressive.
At launch, six exterior colors (Seneca Blue, Magma Red, Hethel Yellow, Dark Verdant, Shadow Grey, and Nimbus Grey) and seven interior color options (red, black, gray, and tan Nappa leather, as well as black Alcantara with red, yellow, or gray stitching) will be available. Other features include a titanium exhaust, gloss black front splitter, front bumper air blades, side sills, rear diffuser, and a 10.25-inch center infotainment touchscreen. The optional Drivers Pack offers Tour or Sport suspension with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires or Sport suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. An automatic transmission can be added for an extra $2,150.
Production of the Emira V6 First Edition is set to begin this fall, followed by the “i4” First Edition featuring a four-cylinder engine. The base version of the Emira is expected in 2023, priced at $74,900. It’s worth noting that destination charges are not included in the reported prices. Lotus has not disclosed further details about this base model yet.
The pricing of the Emira V6 First Edition positions it as a direct competitor to the 718 Cayman GT4, offering rare driving experiences that enthusiasts crave.
