Responding to high demand, Lincoln has reintroduced the rear-hinged doors of the Continental for the 2020 model year, following the initial release in 2019 which saw all 80 units sold within 48 hours. The Coach Door Edition commences as the top-tier Black Label trim featuring the 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine and all-wheel drive, with Lincoln subsequently installing central-opening doors and implementing various interior changes within the luxurious cabin.

While the standard Black Label trim with the 400-hp, 400 lb-ft engine and AWD is priced just under $77,000 before additional options, the Coach Door Edition carries a substantial price tag of $115,470. Customers have the choice of Infinite Black, Pristine White Metallic, or Chroma Crystal Blue exterior colors, along with the option of a Monochromatic Package if they opt for either the black or white hues. For the interior, there is an Alpine / Chalet theme or a Jet Black / Thoroughbred theme, although the latter is not available with the blue exterior.

The rear-hinged doors undoubtedly steal the spotlight in this special edition, but the revisions done within the cabin are also significant. The elongated central console of the luxury sedan features a table for rear passengers, two slots for a tablet or notebook, as well as a wireless charging platform. Rear occupants can also utilize one of the two USB ports and a 110V power socket, while a four-inch screen grants access to the climate controls.

To elevate the appeal, the Coach Door Edition distinguishes itself from the standard Continental with distinctive badging on the substantial rear center console. Luminous rear-door sills crafted from aluminum, along with a secure pass-through storage compartment and an umbrella stashed in the rear door, complete the list of enhancements.

Orders for the 2020 Continental Coach Door Edition are currently being accepted by Lincoln and will continue until the end of the month. A total of approximately 150 units will be produced, with deliveries to customers set to commence next spring.
