After a successful journey, the Kia Stinger is bidding farewell, as previously anticipated. To commemorate its departure, Kia is introducing a Tribute Edition that showcases elegant color patterns for the sport sedan.
Limited to 1,000 units, the 2023 Kia Stinger Tribute Edition, based on the GT trim, houses a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 368 horsepower. Available in Ascot Green or a new matte Moonscape gray hue, the vehicle adopts a somber aesthetic with black mirror caps, black Brembo brake calipers, and black 19-inch wheels.
The interior features Terracotta brown leather upholstery on the seats and door panels, complemented by a carbon-effect trim on the center console. Additionally, a new emblem (resembling a wasp’s stinger) is rumored to adorn the headrests, although Kia has yet to unveil it. Each of the 1,000 Tribute Edition Stingers receives a unique numbered plate on the door sills.
Introduced in 2017, the Kia Stinger stood out as an exceptional value proposition in the realm of sport sedans, occupying a niche of its own. With its elongated profile, rear-wheel drive configuration, and remarkably potent V6 engine for a non-luxury sedan, it delivered impressive performance and aesthetics. However, its unconventional characteristics made it less appealing to the mainstream market, combined with its relatively high price tag for a Kia-branded vehicle, which likely led to its discontinuation.
An update was rolled out last year, enhancing the Stinger’s power output marginally and introducing larger infotainment screens, but this iteration of the model seems to have a short lifespan.
Farewell to a true icon.
