The very first edition of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV, which was previously sold for a substantial half million dollars in January, is now up for sale again by its new proprietors.

Rather than a customary for-sale listing, the announcement regarding the availability of this vehicle was made on Hummer Chat, an online forum for Hummer aficionados, last week. The company that acquired the SUV does not seem to have done so with the intention of flipping it for quick profits. Instead, the individual behind the post (known as Bill) mentioned that the purchase was in support of Tread Lightly, a charitable organization that promotes responsible enjoyment of the countryside in motor vehicles. Following the successful fundraising for the charity, the decision has been made to pass on the Hummer to a permanent residence with a collector.

“Our company acquired the VIN#1 Hummer EV SUV at Barrett in Scottsdale,” a posting on Hummer Chat declared the vehicle’s availability. “Tread Lightly, the non-profit organization which benefitted from the auction proceeds, aligns with our company’s values, and we were enthusiastic about contributing to their cause. That said, the Hummer deserves a dedicated enthusiast or collector.”

The asking price for the SUV has not been disclosed by the company; instead, they are open to considering “all offers.” The right deal will secure this fully equipped Edition One model finished in GM’s exquisite Moonshot Green Matte exterior with Lunar Shadow interior. The vehicle is fully manufactured and will soon be titled and dispatched to the auction winner before being resold to the eventual purchaser.

In a previous auction on Bring a Trailer, the first Hummer EV was sold for $275,000 on April 1st, 2022. The most recent sale fetched $150,000 earlier this month. Similarly, Cars and Bids witnessed its highest bid reach $260,420 in April 2022, with the least expensive Hummer EV pickup selling for $154,500 on February 8th.

Although none of these instances involved the premier production model, it is improbable that the seller will receive the full $500,000 from the charity auction, given the absence of a charity element this time. Moreover, this Hummer EV SUV did not attract the same level of attention as the first GMC Hummer EV pickup sold at the charity auction, which garnered a staggering $2.5 million, nearly five times the price of the SUV.

If there are no interested parties for this unique item, Barrett-Jackson is reportedly considering showcasing it once more at either Palm Beach in April or Vegas in June.
