Owning a BMW wagon is a truly special experience. Enthusiasts value them for their rareness and practicality. Interestingly, BMW never had the intention to create wagons initially. It required the initiative of one engineer to persuade the company to delve into mass production of these longroof vehicles.

Highlighted by eBay Motors, the concept of producing wagons at BMW was championed by Max Reisböck, an engineer stationed at the company’s headquarters in Munich. In 1984, the 3 Series lineup solely featured sedans and coupes. In his pursuit for a more practical family vehicle, Reisböck took matters into his own hands to build one.
