Ken Block recently revealed images on Twitter of his unique Audi S1 Hoonitron, featuring a stripped-down bare carbon finish. To describe its appearance as anything less than breathtaking would be a severe understatement.

The Audi S1 Hoonitron stands as an electric machine designed for tire-smoking antics, tailored specifically for Block’s forthcoming Gymkhana film. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Audi Sport Quattro S1 that conquered Pikes Peak in 1985, the car proudly showcases oversized fenders, a sizable rear spoiler, and an equally imposing front wing. It flawlessly captures the essence of 80s design while presenting a contemporary, state-of-the-art aesthetic.

Originally, the Hoonitron showcased a red-and-grey livery when it first debuted. However, this was merely for its initial photo session, as Hoonigan had a distinctive livery in store for the Gymkhana film, necessitating the removal of the previous one to unveil the sensational bare carbon finish beneath.

Considering its role as an internet sensation for fans worldwide, one might expect a rough and rugged appearance once the livery is removed. However, the reality is quite the opposite.

The alignment of the carbon weave across the panels, even down to intricate features like the wing mirrors, creates a menacing, stealthy appearance for the vehicle.

The fresh Hoonigan livery also impresses, maintaining a color scheme of red and grey. It now proudly displays Block’s sponsor logos, notably the iconic Monster Energy “M” in prominent locations. A standout detail is the rear view, adorned with Audi’s signature four rings at the base of the rear spoiler.

Essentially, the path forward is evident. Audi should construct a second Hoonitron with the bare carbon finish to serve as the “antagonist” in the upcoming Gymkhana film. Patience will be a virtue.
