Acura, much like many car manufacturers, aims to transition to fully electric vehicles in the foreseeable future. The Japanese automaker has set the target year at 2040, and now we have a glimpse of the potential appearance of its upcoming electric vehicles. A recent teaser unveiled the Acura Precision EV Concept, which will be fully showcased on Aug. 18 during Monterey Car Week.
Correction 8/11/22 12:50 pm: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the Precision EV offered a sneak peek at a future electric SUV collaboration between Honda/Acura and GM. Acura has clarified to The Drive that this is not the case. The necessary updates have been made to provide the most precise information. We apologize for the error.
The Precision EV, briefly displayed with an LED-decorated grille in the teaser video below, offers insight into the design aesthetics to expect in the brand’s upcoming electric vehicles, particularly in the crossover and SUV segments. While we are acquainted with Honda and GM’s full-size electric SUV, the 2024 Prologue, Acura’s interpretation of its electric future is unique.
The Prologue brings forth pleasing design aspects from Honda’s latest Civic and Accord models. The Acura Precision Concept, as hinted by the teaser, exhibits characteristics reminiscent of the Integra and MDX, featuring a distinctive five-point diamond grille design and angled headlights.
Further details about this concept remain scarce at present, but more information is anticipated at its official unveiling next week.
