Derived from the new Land Cruiser, this flagship Lexus SUV marks the first genuinely fresh LX since 2007. Similar to the Toyota, it discards the 5.7-liter V8 and instead operates with a new and potentially more powerful 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 generating 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Utilizing a 10-speed automatic transmission, it is built on Toyota’s latest body-on-frame GA-F platform which enhances the vehicle’s rigidity by 20 percent compared to its predecessor, while being 441 pounds lighter and having a lower center of gravity.

Alongside a new engine and TNGA-F platform, the fourth-generation LX also enjoys an enhanced braking system that promises more consistent performance. Its power steering system has also been improved to provide lighter feedback at lower speeds and firmer input at higher speeds. The Active Height Control feature enables real-time adjustments between three different ride heights (Normal, Hi1, or Hi2) while driving and offers a stationary-only Low mode for easier entry and exit, reminiscent of a bus. The system automatically adjusts the ride height to reduce body roll when cornering, as well as front-to-back movement during acceleration and braking.
The Multi-Terrain Select function provides six modes—Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock—each altering various aspects, including the behavior of Active Height Control.
