For those eyeing a spirited ride from Jaguar, now is the time to opt for the muscular choice. Jaguar’s latest 2022 F-Type range exclusively boasts V8 powerplants, bidding farewell to the four and six-cylinder iterations. Moving forward, the lineup will solely feature the newly introduced P450 and the range-topping R models in the U.S., both propelled by potent 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engines.

The P450 variant churns out 444 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque, with its torque delivery kicking in at a low 2,500 rpm. This new “entry-level” F-Type will be offered in rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations, as well as in coupe or convertible setups. Jaguar claims this model can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds, irrespective of the chosen drivetrain, and hit a top speed of 177 mph.

Key features of the standard P450 trim encompass an electronic active differential, Quiet Start, customizable drive modes, an active exhaust system, 20-inch wheels, and brakes identical in size to those on the F-Type R.

Notably, the flagship AWD-exclusive R model retains its specifications for 2022, continuing to generate 575 hp, accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and remain electronically capped at 186 mph.

The starting price for the 2022 Jaguar F-Type P450 RWD Coupe is set at $71,050, while the P450 R-Dynamic AWD Coupe will have a base price of $81,050. The F-Type R will maintain its current starting price of $104,350. Speculation suggests that the upcoming generation of the F-Type may adopt a mid-engined electric configuration. If this proves true, the window to acquire a factory-made V8-powered Jaguar sports car may be drawing to a close.
