A little over a year ago, the Kia Stinger GT was introduced at the North American International Auto Show, and now Kia Motors is marking the sports sedan’s first anniversary with a special limited edition. On Tuesday, the company unveiled the 2019 Stinger GT Atlantica, which is a distinctive version of the Stinger GT2 all-wheel drive, limited to just 500 units globally.
This Atlantica edition is available in an exclusive Deep Chroma Blue color, paired with an Espresso Brown Nappa leather interior, making it stand out. Unique badging both inside and outside the vehicle enhances its limited edition appeal.
Additionally, the Atlantica comes equipped with features not typically found in the standard Stinger, such as heated rear seats, a Surround View Monitor system, and a wireless phone charger. It also boasts certain European-only features, including distinctive 19-inch wheels and a prominent Stinger logo on the rear hatch, which is exclusive to the Korean model.
“We recognize that the Stinger is something unique and wanted to celebrate the 2019 model year with a standout variant,” stated Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning at Kia Motors America. “The Atlantica edition brings a more European flair and sets itself apart with special badging and features not previously offered in the U.S. market.”
Kia has indicated that pricing for this limited edition will be unveiled this summer when the Atlantica becomes available for purchase.
The Stinger GT grand touring sedan represents a significant milestone for Kia, as the brand aims to build a reputation among performance enthusiasts and venture into the luxury sedan segment. While it may not appeal to everyone, the new Stinger is a reassuring presence for those concerned about the future of performance vehicles.
