It’s hard to envision a McLaren more extravagant than the P1, yet the experts at Woking have managed to elevate the excitement with the creation of the track-focused P1 GTR. Each of the 58 P1 GTRs produced boasts an impressive 83-horsepower boost over the standard P1 and has lost 110 pounds, complemented by advanced aerodynamic features and a simplified racing cockpit. While the GTR was designed solely for racing, a select few vehicles have been adapted for road use by F1 restorers Lanzante Limited.
Currently, one of these adapted models is on the market in the U.K. with only 852 miles on the odometer. The seller, Tom Hartley Jnr, has recently listed the renowned “XP05” P1 prototype that car enthusiasts dream about owning.
In contrast to the P1 prototype, this P1 GTR has preserved its pristine condition throughout its less than 900-mile history. This particular vehicle is adorned with a Lark racing livery, reminiscent of the iconic F1 GTR from the 1990s. The purchase includes the P1 GTR’s flight case, which contains racing wheels and tires, a custom car cover, a racing exhaust system, and diagnostic tools. Additionally, it comes with the original owner’s manual and a spare key — replacing the key fob for this vehicle would likely come with a hefty price tag.
Regarding the price, Tom Hartley Jnr has not disclosed it, but it’s worth noting that a track-exclusive P1 GTR was listed for sale back in 2016 at a staggering $4.6 million. Given that this model is considerably rarer, it’s unlikely to see a decrease in price either.
