Toy manufacturer Step2 has partnered with McLaren Automotive to introduce an adorable and affordable addition to the McLaren range—the Step2 McLaren 570S Push Sports Car. This miniature supercar made its exciting debut at the Spielwarenmesse toy fair in Nuremberg, Germany, and is designed for young car enthusiasts.

While this push car lacks the powerful twin-turbo V8 engine of the actual 570S, it does offer an impressive advantage: more cupholders than its full-sized counterpart. It features two cupholders for the young driver and one for the person pushing it. Additionally, the car includes a convenient folding handle for easy storage and transportation, along with what Step2 refers to as “Whisper Wheels,” which are designed for a quieter ride.

But that’s not all. Beneath the single seat lies a spacious cargo area for storing toys and snacks. Young drivers can also engage with the McLaren experience through buttons on the steering wheel that produce electronic sounds. The press release does not specify whether it mimics genuine McLaren sounds, but that would certainly be a delightful touch.

This push car is part of McLaren’s expanding licensing initiative aimed at enhancing brand recognition, much like Porsche or Ferrari, by featuring its name and imagery on a broader range of consumer goods. The recent appearance of a Lego 720S model at Goodwood has sparked curiosity about whether it’s targeted at children or adults; many, including myself, found it quite impressive.

The Step2 McLaren 570S Push Sports Car will be released this fall in a vibrant Ventura Orange, with additional color options set to come later, all for a price of $79.99—an appealing cost for a McLaren product..
