Siemens, the major electronics firm, has introduced its RapidSBx switchboard, which is tailored to enhance power distribution for commercial switchboards, facilitating the swift deployment of EV charging stations.

The UL891 switchboard features a streamlined design made specifically for charging stations and various commercial electrical infrastructures, catering to outdoor switchboard requirements in line with sustainability efforts. This includes deployments in urban areas such as airports, shopping centers, and supermarkets, as well as in remote locations.

Designed for flexibility, resilience, and straightforward installation, the RapidSBx is a stock product that provides customizable options for 3 VA branch breakers and boasts a robust NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure, allowing it to adapt to various installation environments and conditions. The switchboard can be procured through distributors and channel partners across the United States.

The switchboard’s design incorporates several safety features, including compliance with arc mitigation, a seismic rating, and tamper resistance. Additionally, the RapidSBx aligns with the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and has been certified by the Electric Utility Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC).
