Silversea Cruises is set to build the southernmost hotel in the world in Puerto Williams, Chile. This new hotel aims to improve the experience for cruise passengers heading to Antarctica.

The luxury hotel will feature 150 rooms and is designed to provide travelers with a smooth transition before and after their visit to the “White Continent.” Set to welcome guests by the end of 2025, the hotel will play a crucial role in enhancing Silversea’s Antarctica expeditions, including the much-acclaimed Antarctica Bridge fly-cruise program.

This project is a collaboration between Silversea and local Chilean investors, with construction officially launched after a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Silversea executives and local authorities.

A few additional people are seen on either end of the group in a rural area with hills and cloudy skies, marking the commencement of an exciting hotel development.

Situated in the sub-Antarctic region of Chile, Puerto Williams serves as an ideal access point for expeditions to Antarctica, and Silversea uniquely operates cruises from this location.

The city’s distinctive position at the southern tip of South America provides travelers with straightforward access to Antarctic journeys. The fly-cruise option makes it possible for guests to skip the often-turbulent Drake Passage.

Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, which is Silversea’s parent company, emphasized the importance of this new hotel: “This new hotel allows us to offer an unmatched Antarctic expedition that enhances our diverse portfolio of world-class vacations.”

The hotel will include a restaurant, bar, lounge, fitness center, and a gift shop displaying the work of local artists. Its design will complement the surrounding landscape, featuring elements inspired by local architecture and materials, all while offering views of the Beagle Channel.

For more than 15 years, Silversea has led the way in polar expeditions, with vessels like the Silver Endeavour and Silver Cloud offering premium cruises lasting from six to twenty days.

For those with limited time, the Antarctica Bridge program offers direct flights to Antarctica, enabling guests to start their adventure without having to navigate the Drake Passage.
