The recently launched 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer might be the freshest (and most aesthetically pleasing) three-row, body-on-frame, American luxury vehicle but it is not alone in this category. To gauge how Stellantis’ new sophisticated SUV stacks up against the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator, we compared its specifications with those from the aforementioned GM and Ford models and, to the detriment of the Grand Wagoneer, appearance does not win any points.

In order to ensure a fair comparison, the Cadillac and Lincoln chosen for this evaluation are the standard-wheelbase versions, not the Escalade ESV or Navigator L. Additionally, details and stats related to the Escalade’s engine are based on the V8 edition.

Right from the start, the new Grand Wagoneer kicks off at approximately $10,000 more than the other two. Perhaps some explanations? With a 6.4-liter engine, it boasts the largest motor. It delivers the highest horsepower (yet, at the same time, the lowest torque). Its 10,000-pound towing capacity means it can haul the most weight. It offers the most rear cargo space behind the second and third rows (though oddly enough, the least amount of cargo when all rear seats are folded down).

As for the Cadillac, it stands out less favorably for producing the lowest horsepower and having the least impressive towing capacity. It is the only model here without an eight-seat option. Yet, the Escalade does boast the highest cargo volume with all rear seats folded down, measuring at a substantial 109.1 cubic feet.

The Lincoln Navigator distinguishes itself by being the single model without a V8 option, opting for a twin-turbo V6 instead. Predictably, it falls slightly behind in horsepower but excels in torque, both in peak value and early availability, offering 510 lb-ft at a mere 3,000 rpm. However, it trails in cargo volume for the space behind the second and third rows.
