The 2018 Jeep Wrangler has generated significant buzz over the past year, with production nearing completion. If you’ve been following our coverage on The Drive, you are likely familiar with many aspects of this highly anticipated vehicle, though you may not yet have a complete view of its design.

The images below show the 2018 Wrangler still partially camouflaged, but they offer a closer look at the vehicle’s features than we’ve seen before. The camouflage is simply a vinyl overlay, allowing a better understanding of its lines and dimensions. While we don’t claim to be experts on the Wrangler, we have closely followed updates from the JL Wrangler Forums to identify key differences between the 2017 and 2018 models.

One of the most striking changes is the design of the front and rear bumpers, which are now more streamlined, likely enhancing clearance and off-road performance. Additionally, the new fender lights on the Wrangler have captured considerable attention in various design sketches. The headlights and taillights appear to be LED, which were optional in previous models but may now be standard. One test vehicle also seems to feature true rails reminiscent of those found on the all-new Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.

Examining the main body, the grille and windshield are slightly more angled compared to earlier models, potentially aimed at improving fuel efficiency. The windshield and side windows appear to be more flush with the body, lending a more refined appearance than previous generations. While we can highlight these evident changes, we eagerly anticipate putting the 2017 and 2018 Jeep Wranglers side by side to explore their differences in detail.
