If you can’t frequent off-road trails as much as you desire, owning a simulator to hone your skills would be ideal. CXC Simulations has taken this concept further by creating a full-size truck simulator that offers the sensation of tearing through the dirt.

The Motion Pro Truck is not a new venture for CXC. This company based in Hawthorne, California had previously developed an off-road Trophy Truck simulator for the entertainment of guests aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines. CXC repurposed a real trophy truck by removing its powertrain and drivetrain, and then placing it on a motion simulator capable of a vertical travel range of three feet.

The popularity of the cruise ship simulator inspired CXC to create a version for personal use, so now you can practice your laps without having to wait for a cruise. Leveraging their knowledge from the trophy truck simulator, CXC designed a chassis more appropriate for simulation purposes and implemented various improvements.

One feature carried over from the cruise ship simulator is a set of wind fans that adjust based on speed to provide a complete sensory experience. The Motion Pro Truck is more versatile for home or business use compared to the trophy truck model, allowing the control panel to be placed inside or outside the vehicle.

CXC offers professional-grade simulators, evident from their pricing. Starting at $75,000, one of CXC’s simulators can be yours, excluding extras. A virtual reality headset will cost an additional $3,000, a massive 77-inch panoramic screen adds $18,000, and a composite seat comes at around $3,000. For that price tag, perhaps investing in a new Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison, installing the onX Offroad app, and discovering the nearest 4×4 trail to your location might be worth considering.
