The ongoing 2024 Formula 1 season continues to be a source of controversy as the Red Bull F1 team recently suspended the female employee who accused Christian Horner of inappropriate behavior. This latest development comes shortly after the Verstappen family made their feelings known about the situation.
Details of the suspension remain undisclosed as both the team and its parent company have classified it as an internal issue. A spokesperson for Red Bull stated, “The company is unable to provide any further comments” on Thursday.
BBC Sport has suggested that the reason behind the suspension was due to alleged dishonesty during the investigation by the female employee. Although this claim remains unconfirmed. Sky Sports F1 did not support this assertion, mentioning that the employee is currently on paid leave.
It remains uncertain if Horner, the team, or their representatives will address the situation publicly as the race weekend unfolds. Given their previous silence on the matter, it seems improbable at this stage.
Considering the recent trend of unexpected events, it wouldn’t be surprising if a new twist to the story emerges shortly. Amid the start of racing activities in Saudi Arabia, it’s evident that the weekend’s headlines won’t revolve around the track.
