The Ford Crown Victoria occupies an unusual niche in the classic car scene. Its past popularity has garnered it significant appreciation, yet its mass production has led many to view it as a disposable vehicle. Consequently, there are very few remarkable models left, making those that do remain particularly desirable among enthusiasts of the Panther platform. This sets the stage for a rare opportunity with a low-mileage 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, which is expected to be listed for sale on Facebook.

In a post on a Facebook group dedicated to low-mileage vehicles, Kevin Landon shared photos of this well-maintained car along with its preservation story. Landon explained that his aunt originally bought the car when it was new. She had a long-standing loyalty to Ford, starting with Bronco IIs in the 1980s. After transitioning to Ford Explorers during the Bronco’s production hiatus, she owned a series of Panther platform vehicles, beginning with a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis, followed by a 2003 Crown Vic she liked so much that she purchased a brand-new 2006 version, which ended up being rarely driven.

Landon noted that there are some gaps in the timeline of the car’s usage. His aunt continued driving the 2003 Crown Vic until 2016, opting for a Honda CR-V instead of using the ’06 model, which remained registered until 2015. This seemingly marks her last vehicle purchase, as Landon shared that his aunt passed away this year, bequeathing her well-kept Crown Vic to her family.

Currently, it appears that the car has mostly remained untouched throughout its life. Carfax reports indicate that it was first purchased in Louisiana in 2006 and had a battery replacement in 2008. The only service record after that was noted in June 2015, when a Lincoln dealer in Texas recorded the odometer reading at 426 miles. Landon has yet to confirm the car’s current mileage.

Although Landon initially mentioned that the car was not for sale, his recent social media update hints that it will be listed soon. Its remarkably low mileage already has many Panther body enthusiasts buzzing, who also point out features that make this Ford stand out, including the unique body-color grille, console shifter, and LX Sport trim. While Crown Vics may have been regarded as budget-friendly cars in the past, this particular model is expected to command a much higher price. It could even break records on auction platforms like Bring A Trailer.
