Enthusiasts of the renowned Nissan Z sports car have eagerly awaited this moment: the initial official glimpse at the brand-new 2024 Nissan Z Nismo. On Thursday morning, the Japanese car manufacturer unveiled a brief 45-second teaser video showcasing the adrenaline-fueled Z demonstrating its agility.

Following the introduction of the latest Z generation in 2021, rumors began circulating about the impending release of the sportscar’s more potent variant. Nissan chose to keep this exciting development confidential to focus on the newest addition to its lineup. However, as the Z begins its fresh product cycle, details about the upcoming Nismo model started to emerge. Initially, Nissan introduced a higher-powered Nismo iteration exclusively for Japanese markets and even developed a racing version for the Super Taikyu series. Recently, test vehicles were spotted undergoing trials in Arizona.

Regrettably, Nissan did not disclose much about the forthcoming Z Nismo in the teaser released on Thursday. Nevertheless, from the glimpses provided, it features distinct (probably larger) wheels and brakes, grippy Dunlop Sport Maxx tires, more assertive front and rear aesthetics adorned with Nismo branding, and a prevalent red theme across the vehicle. Internally, the Recaro sports seats are likely the prominent alteration for this version, alongside the novel steering wheel featuring a striking red central line. A brief peek at the engine showcases a black front strut bar, although its differences from the one in the standard Z remain uncertain.

The video captures the car navigating what seems to be Nissan’s test track in Arizona, with three-time Formula Drift champion Chris Forsberg managing the wheel. Forsberg is well-versed in pushing vehicles to their limits, making him an ideal candidate for showcasing the Z’s capabilities with finesse and speed.
