At just 26 years old, Charles Leclerc has accomplished a great deal. As a driver for Ferrari in Formula 1, his achievements are impressive. Recently, he celebrated victories at the Italian Grand Prix and his home race in Monaco earlier this year. However, despite his successes, Leclerc is still only human. This became evident when a TikTok user captured him on camera accidentally rear-ending another vehicle while driving his Ferrari Purosangue in Monte Carlo.

The incident clearly involves Leclerc, especially when he leans into the sunlight; the seven-time Grand Prix champion owns a silver Purosangue and had driven it to Monza just last week. Following the initial collision at the famed Fairmont Hairpin, Leclerc slowly reversed his car as the other vehicle moved forward. Leclerc and his passenger shared what appeared to be friendly gestures before both cars drove away, concluding our glimpse into the mishap.

It’s important not to mock Leclerc for this incident; everyone makes mistakes—even elite athletes. If anything, it serves as a reminder for us to be kinder to ourselves. While I admit there’s a bit of irony in this happening at a corner he’s navigated countless times, it highlights that driving in regular traffic is vastly different from racing at high speeds, each presenting its own unique set of challenges.

Now, if you were the owner of the vehicle that got hit, it could actually feel like a point of pride. Depending on what I was driving, I can imagine a scenario where I would leave that dent as is, rather than repair it.

The video was shared on TikTok by a user named cameroncamasi on Thursday, although the exact timing of the incident is unclear. After taking a break this weekend, Leclerc is set to head to Baku for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where he will aim to secure another victory while hopefully avoiding any further self-deprecating thoughts.
