A recent Reuters article reveals that Lincoln is preparing to debut at least five electric SUVs by the year 2026. Citing “three sources familiar with the company’s strategy,” Reuters also offers initial insights into these upcoming models. Ford Motor Company had previously announced a $30 billion investment towards its electrification initiatives, with the goal of electrifying the entire Lincoln vehicle range by 2030. Let’s take a glimpse at what could be in store.

The first electric Lincoln model is anticipated to launch sometime this year. A teaser released in June showcased a distinctive full-width front lighting feature on an unnamed model, while the report suggests that the inaugural Lincoln EV is slated to commence production by late 2024 or early 2025. This vehicle is expected to be sized similar to the Aviator. Notably, this timeline aligns with previous speculation from late last year, indicating a delay in the electric Aviator’s production to 2024.

Additionally, there are plans for smaller Lincoln electric vehicles that will reportedly share their foundation with the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Details regarding the production timeline for this model were not disclosed by the sources. It’s expected to be an enhanced iteration of the existing platform. The Corsair and Nautilus models could potentially be succeeded by other EVs, intended for production between 2025 and 2026. Leading the lineup will be an electrified alternative to the Navigator, set to commence production in 2026 and utilizing the same platform as the F-150 Lightning.

Lincoln may have been slightly delayed in announcing its electrification strategy, but the rumored production schedule outlined above suggests that it remains competitive within the industry. Various luxury brands are currently at different phases of electrifying their vehicle ranges, with Mercedes-Benz among the frontrunners. A Lincoln representative declined to delve into specifics about their forthcoming models, as stated by Reuters.

We’ll gain further insights into Lincoln’s electric vehicle initiatives upon the unveiling of their first model later in the year. Specifics on the new offering remain scarce, but the teaser image hints at a design reminiscent of Lincoln’s Zephyr Reflection concept. This suggests a unique aesthetic appeal, with the distinguishing factors of its electric powertrain and advanced infotainment software setting it apart from other electric vehicles.
