Kia is launching an extensive marketing campaign for the new 2018 Kia Stinger. With the North American International Auto Show taking place in Detroit this week, they’re unveiling an exciting feature for attendees. Starting next week, Kia will introduce a four-dimensional virtual reality test drive.

This immersive 4D experience allows users to virtually get behind the wheel of the Kia Stinger, providing an opportunity to experience its speed, agility, responsiveness, and handling, showcasing Kia’s premier performance production model. The virtual drive will transport users across picturesque Southern France, along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway, and to the Cadwell Park racetrack in England.

While Kia has a state-of-the-art VR setup available at the Detroit event, interested customers can also enjoy the presentation from home. Virtual test drives will be accessible via Kia.com and jauntvr.com. Mobile users can also take part through the Jaunt app, available on both Android and iOS devices.

During the virtual experience, Kia representatives guide users through various locations while detailing the Stinger’s design, performance, and premium features. For those attending the show, the display features five projectors projecting the immersive experience onto three screens, complemented by a specially designed floor that offers haptic feedback, simulating the sensations of driving via a modified suspension system that responds to the virtual road’s movements.

Saad Chehab, Vice President of Marketing Communications at Kia Motors America, commented on the 4D experience, stating, “With a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 167 miles per hour, the Stinger is unlike anything we’ve ever offered at Kia. The 4D Stinger Experience elevates virtual reality beyond just visuals, allowing a deeper connection with consumers and enthusiasts. Every curve, acceleration, and brake feels real, making you feel as if you are truly in control. To appreciate the Stinger, you need to experience it firsthand.”

I may not have a high-tech VR setup at home, but there is a Kia dealership nearby. I might just have to experience the test drive the traditional way.
