Recently, Jeep unveiled a series of concept vehicles for the Easter Jeep Safari, with the Quicksand Concept emerging as the most striking. The design eliminates all non-essential features such as fenders, B-pillars, and all glass except for the windshield, resulting in the aggressive-looking machine shown here. One thing is certain—it stands out. This design makes a bold statement that will either appeal to you or not, but its distinctiveness is undeniable. The hood stacks evoke memories of classic Gasser drag racers, while the absence of fenders showcases its rugged off-road spirit. The front-mounted compressor tank adds a clever touch that complements the Warn winch, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The stripped-back body reflects a minimalist approach that resonates with many enthusiasts, reminding us that manufacturers still value the passion of their fans.
In terms of capability, it doesn’t fall short either. Each corner is equipped with coil-over-damper suspension paired with a solid front axle, which promises impressive suspension travel to tackle rough terrains. The front tires are sturdy 32-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, while the rears are larger at 37 inches. This staggered tire setup certainly adds to its aggressive look, though the effectiveness of this design is yet to be seen. Under the hood lies a powerful 392-Hemi crate engine, delivering substantial performance, which is channeled through a six-speed manual Getrag transmission.
Although this model is primarily a concept for the Jeep brand, we are pleased to see its creation. This quirky hot-rod vehicle inspires us to consider building one ourselves, potentially fulfilling Jeep’s intention all along.
