In the fiercely competitive auto industry, it’s common to see car manufacturers directly targeting their rivals to attract customers with special incentives known as “conquest” offers. Jaguar is currently making a strong effort to entice Tesla Model 3 owners and potential buyers to switch to their I-Pace all-electric crossovers by providing incentives totaling up to $15,000.
Several Tesla enthusiasts on social media have revealed details of this offer, which includes a $5,000 dealer discount, a $7,000 “Allowance Credit,” and an additional $3,000 “Tesla Conquest” bonus for owners of a Model S, Model X, or Model 3.
This offer presents a significant discount for the I-Pace, Jaguar’s debut all-electric vehicle which launched last year with a starting price of $69,850.
This move by Jaguar is clearly aimed at Tesla owners, sparking some controversy but generating buzz in the automotive community.
The I-Pace has earned positive reviews from critics, winning awards like European Car of the Year and World Car of the Year. It boasts a dual-electric-motor system delivering up to approximately 400 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, powered by a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery.
Despite its accolades, the I-Pace still faces challenges compared to Tesla, notably the absence of a dedicated charging infrastructure and limited service availability at dealerships.
