Dodge recently started teasing its new Challenger SRT Demon, but many automotive enthusiasts believe the initial glimpses may have come earlier in the trailer for Fate of the Furious, the eighth film in the Fast & Furious franchise, set to hit theaters later this year. This trailer showcased scenes of characters racing in silver Challengers with distinct flared fenders and other unique features. If these vehicles are indeed the Dodge Demon, then a behind-the-scenes video provides an exciting preview of the car.
The video, shared by a YouTube channel called Insta FOXtv and highlighted by Autoweek, features Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel expressing gratitude to the Atlanta crew working on the film. Notably, in the background, there are two Dodge Challengers that appear to match the ones in the trailer, differing significantly from the models available at current Dodge dealerships. This raises suspicions that the crew would not have taken the time to add amber reflectors typical in the U.S. on those modified cars unless Dodge plans to mass-produce this model.
The standout feature of the vehicles is their broad hood scoop, which closely resembles one seen in the computer-generated imagery of the Demon shared in a video released by Dodge. Additionally, a closer inspection of the sides shows what appears to be the badge near the front wheels, suggesting it resembles the new Demon logo rather than any other emblem typically found in that area.
The screenshots shown here are taken directly from the video, so viewers can skip Diesel’s lengthy four-minute speech to the crew. For those interested in the full experience, the complete video is available for viewing.
