The capability of electric trucks is well-known. For instance, look at the Ford F-150 Lightning and its impressive 775 lb-ft of torque. While this torque is excellent for acceleration, there is still a vast range of suspension enhancements to discover, if only it were within reach for average individuals. The latest creation from Ford Performance unleashes the full potential of this electric pickup in a manner that only a manufacturer can achieve, featuring the inclusion of Fox 3.0 shocks from the Raptor and much more.

Known as the F-150 Lightning Switchgear, this project is the most recent endeavor of the Ford Performance Demonstrator program. This places it in the same league as the Mustang Mach-E 1400 and Ford’s electric SuperVans. Although it may not boast the same extreme power as these other builds, it certainly does not lack in excitement. Moreover, it is a versatile creation offering two settings—street and off-road.

Carbon composite fenders attempt to confine dust, pebbles, and tire fumes. The off-road setup showcases rock rails, skid plating, and a steel front bumper; in contrast, the urban version—which Ford hasn’t unveiled yet—sports rocker skirts and a carbon front bumper. Both variants of the vehicle include a sleek roof spoiler that pairs nicely with the fender vents.

Even the interior is impressive with five—count ’em, five—Recaro Sportster ORV seats. It’s amusing to see three of them arranged in the rear row, while there’s a securely mounted brace serving as a handle for riders and a fastening point for the front seats’ six-point Schroth safety belts. Let’s hope your driver is skilled enough to prevent you from bumping into said support.

Safety first, folks.
