Just before its grand reveal at the Geneva Auto Show, Infiniti has unveiled its latest concept – the Project Black S. Derived from an Infiniti Q60 coupe, the Project Black S features brand new aggressive design elements, complemented by a Formula One-inspired powertrain.
In collaboration with the RenaultSport Formula One Team, Infiniti has integrated an energy recovery system (ERS) into this new concept. This technology, currently utilized in F1 cars, harnesses energy that would typically be lost during braking. The stored energy can then be unleashed by the driver when needed, delivering immediate, lag-free acceleration at the push of a button.
Roland Krueger, the president of Infiniti, expressed, “Infiniti holds the position of the premium car manufacturer within the Renault-Nissan Alliance and serves as a technical collaborator for the Renault Sport Formula One Team. Therefore, it is only natural for us to join forces to explore the potential of introducing innovative high-performance hybrid technology to our clientele. Infiniti has consistently been at the forefront of making new, cutting-edge powertrain technology accessible, and we are incredibly enthusiastic about the prospects of Project Black S.”
With high hopes for a positive reception from the public, this concept exemplifies sheer excellence. Bring it to life, Infiniti, and continue to introduce F1 technology.
