The team at Ford Performance is gearing up for a hectic few years ahead. Alongside the launch of the Ford Mustang GT3 program for IMSA and WEC this year, the performance division of the Blue Oval has just revealed plans for a Ford Raptor-themed truck to participate in the Dakar Rally in 2025.
Ford has cleverly referred to the upcoming vehicle as a “Raptor-branded race truck,” hinting that it could be an F-150 Raptor, Bronco Raptor, or Ranger Raptor taking on the challenging off-road event. Based on the teaser image released, it appears to be leaning towards the latter option—especially considering the Ranger’s previous experiences in the Dakar since 2014.
M-Sport, Ford’s enduring companion in the World Rally Championship, will be in charge of developing the vehicle and managing the Dakar campaign. The longstanding rally partnership between the two entities has yielded many notable outcomes, but one that stands out is the impressive range of body kits for Transit vans that they’ve produced.
