Car enthusiasts globally are eagerly hoping Hyundai will turn the N Vision 74 concept into a reality. With an impressive 671 horsepower, a striking design that surpasses the Cybertruck in futuristic aesthetics, and an innovative hydrogen powertrain, the N Vision 74 stands out as one of the most exciting concepts of recent years. According to a report from Korea Economic Daily, there’s a strong possibility that this supercar will enter production in 2026, and it may boast even greater power than initially expected.
The report mentions that Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel cell supercar, dubbed N74, will feature a two-door coupe design with gullwing doors. An official supplier for Hyundai revealed, “We were informed that the group plans to commence mass production of the N74 in June 2026, with a plan to manufacture only 100 units each year for two years.” Additionally, another supplier stated, “We aim to finalize the manufacturing of the N74 components by July [2024] and supply them to Hyundai Motor.”
Similar to the N Vision 74 concept, the N74 will incorporate both a hydrogen fuel cell and a 70-kWh battery pack to energize its electric motors. However, the production variant is anticipated to deliver 764 horsepower. Based on the concept’s performance, it is expected that the fuel cell will predominantly power the motors, with the full battery capacity utilized during high-performance driving. When fully powered, the N74 is projected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately three seconds.
This information emerges shortly after former head of R&D and current Hyundai executive technical advisor Albert Biermann dismissed the idea of producing the N Vision 74. Biermann indicated that the brand prefers to concentrate on sports cars within reach for most customers, rather than spending resources on limited-production, high-priced supercars. “We are not making show cars,” he told Carscoops. However, the allure of offering a high-performance, environmentally friendly flagship model might be too appealing for Hyundai to overlook. Reports suggest that Hyundai will construct 200 N74 units, each priced around $370,000.
