The sub-compact Inster electric vehicle (EV) by Hyundai Motor Company has been officially unveiled. Initially launching in the South Korean market, the Hyundai Inter will later become available in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

At the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show, the South Korean automaker introduced the all-electric Hyundai Inster EV, which falls under the A-segment subcompact category. This EV offers rapid charging capabilities and a range of up to 355 km based on Europe’s WLTP standard.

The interior of the Inster features a 10.25-inch digital cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, and a wireless charging dock.

Taking design cues from the gas-powered CASPER, which debuted solely in South Korea, the Hyundai Inster boasts a longer body and wheelbase to enhance interior space. Its dimensions make it ideal for urban driving and parking in the regions where it will be introduced.

“With Inster, we’ve broken new ground in the small SUV category for a global audience,” said Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center. “Inster showcases a unique design and an interior that maximizes its potential in innovative, customer-focused ways. With INSTER, we’re reshaping the concept of driving a sub-compact EV.”

Hyundai has confirmed that most features and technologies will come as standard in the Inster, with additional enhanced “convenience and design features” in the pipeline. Detailed specifications for the Inster will be released closer to its launch date.

Although Hyundai has not disclosed information about other Inster variants, there are reports of an Inster Cross model featuring a more rugged design.
