Hyundai has been enticing potential customers with its continually evolving roster of vehicles, but there’s also a chance to earn a $50 gift card simply by visiting a dealership, even if you’re not shopping for a new car.

A keen Reddit user, SnowWhiteandthe62dwa, discovered this offer on Hyundai USA’s mobile site. A blue banner at the bottom of the page announces a $50 reward card for those who take a test drive.

To participate, click the banner, complete the form, schedule a test drive, and visit the dealership to receive your gift card.

While the banner may not show on desktop browsers, the website still advertises the $50 promotion when locating nearby dealerships. After completing the form, the map displaying your nearest Hyundai locations includes a $50 reward offer for a test drive. However, you will likely need to call the dealership to set up an appointment and mention the promotion to secure the gift card.

Upon visiting the dealership, staff will process the gift card form, which you will receive via email as a digital $50 Visa card. This card can be used at any merchant that accepts credit card numbers, allowing for easy online transactions.

Back on Reddit, SnowWhiteandthe62dwa shared that this promotion worked for them despite not being in the market for a vehicle:

I was clear that I had no intention of buying a car and didn’t need more than two seats. I requested a test drive of the Veloster N, but explained that it was merely for the experience and was politely declined.

A free $50 just for walking in? You can’t beat it!

While the promotion remains effective, some users have reported being turned away upon stating they weren’t there to purchase a vehicle. Redditor koenistigg recounted their experience:

I made an appointment, walked in, and the first thing the salesperson asked was whether I wanted to lease or finance. I told them I wasn’t ready to buy right now; I just wanted a test drive to be better informed for when I was ready to buy in the spring. They then basically asked me to leave and told me to come back when I was ready to purchase.

However, the terms on Hyundai’s sign-up form do not indicate that one must be actively looking to buy a new vehicle; they only require a test drive. Others have also reported difficulty in securing a test drive for the popular Veloster N. Redditor CatDelete shared:

I went in, asked to test drive the Veloster N, and handed over the form. The guy was cool and asked if I was just there for the gift card. I said yes, and then there was suddenly a “hold” put on the only Veloster N available. I didn’t get to drive it, but it was pretty straightforward.

Good luck with your visit! And by the way, can someone request that we get the i30 N over here as well?
