Pagani Automobili has made a name for itself over the last thirty years by crafting some of the most sought-after and exclusive hypercars in the industry. Their limited production runs, combined with the company’s upgrade program, have led to numerous Zondas and Huayras returning to San Cesario sul Panaro for modifications that reflect their owners’ personal preferences. One such model is the Zonda Nero, which is currently on offer at DK Engineering in the United Kingdom.
The Zonda Nero started its journey as a Zonda S 7.3 in 2003, featuring a 7.3-litre Mercedes-AMG V12 engine that generates 555 hp. Originally painted in a striking grey, this vehicle began its metamorphosis shortly after leaving the factory. It first received upgrades to meet Zonda F specifications, which involved adjustments to the suspension, aerodynamics, and exhaust, boosting its power to 594 hp.
In 2009, the Zonda underwent another transformation, this time being revamped to Zonda Cinque specifications. This included the incorporation of carbon fibre body panels, new aerodynamic components, and a refreshed interior. These changes weren’t just for looks; the vehicle’s performance saw substantial enhancements as well.
The most notable change took place in 2015, when it was transformed into the Zonda Nero with Tricolore specifications. As part of this conversion, the car was finished in a rich Nero exterior color with Italian Tricolore accents that underscored its exclusivity. The interior received a makeover with luxurious Alcantara and Vermiglio leather, integrating features from the Zonda F to elevate its comfort and elegance. The car’s mechanical components were also upgraded, and it received a 6-speed manual transmission, making it the sole Zonda to boast this particular specification.
In 2020, the Zonda Nero underwent additional enhancements, particularly with the brake calipers being repainted in red, which beautifully matched the interior color palette. This final detail heightened the car’s visual appeal, cementing its reputation as a truly unique collector’s item.
This Zonda Nero is one of just 139 road-going Zondas ever made and is now up for sale at DK Engineering. With its rich history and personalized modifications, it represents a remarkable opportunity for collectors.
