Release by Fiat-Chrysler: Fiat-Chrysler recently announced the revival of the Fiat 500 1957 Edition for the upcoming 2019 model year, bringing back this nostalgic appearance package after its discontinuation post the 2016 model year.

What’s Fresh: The ’57 package entails a myriad of retro-inspired design enhancements, many of which draw inspiration from the iconic 1957 Fiat Nuovo Cinquecento (New 500).

The ’57 package will serve as an enhancement for the 500’s mid-tier “Lounge” trim, adding $995 to the Lounge’s base retail price of $19,745. The 1957 Edition, like all other 500 variants, will be offered as a hardtop or a cabriolet.

Upon purchasing the 1957 Edition, buyers will receive:

  • Three brand new 16-inch retro-themed wheel choices (White, Green, or Blue)
  • Exterior accents featuring vintage elements, like a retro fascia with bright inserts, retro “FIAT” badging, vintage Ivory door-trim panels, White exterior mirrors, dual-toned paint with a White roof on hatchback models, and a Black soft top on cabrio models
  • Three vintage-inspired paint hues: Celeste Blue (Retro Light Blue), Chiaro (Light Green), and Bianco Ice (White)
  • Elegant interior details boasting Italian flair: Ivory door-trim panels and Marrone leather shift boot, Avorio/Marrone leather-wrapped steering wheel, and retro “FIAT” emblem

Notable Quote: “Our zippy and stylish Fiat 500, crafted with Italian precision, comes equipped with turbocharged power,” stated Steve Beahm, who leads FCA North America’s passenger car brands. “The 1957 Edition adds a stylish touch to the iconic Fiat 500.”

Key Information: The 2019 500 will arrive at dealerships this autumn, presenting itself in three versions: Pop, Lounge, and Abarth. Beginning at $16,245, the Pop model will feature Fiat’s 1.4-liter “MultiAir” turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 135 horsepower. The Lounge variant will boast an upgraded interior with heated leather seats, while the sporty Abarth will see its 1.4 engine output bumped up to 160 horsepower. All trims will offer a choice between a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
