Setting itself apart from counterparts, Ferrari doesn’t feel rushed to phase out its larger internal combustion engines. The renowned Italian automaker will persist in crafting V12 powertrains until regulatory constraints are enforced.

According to Ferrari’s Product Marketing and Marketing Intelligence Director, Emanuele Carando, “We are committed to producing naturally aspirated V12 engines until legal restrictions dictate otherwise.”

“We anticipate that future legislation will grant us further opportunities, perhaps through the development of more eco-friendly gasoline variants,” Carando expressed. “It’s crucial for us to cater to our clientele who have an affinity for this powertrain, at present and likely in the future,” he elaborated.

Ferrari’s latest flagship grand tourer, the 12Cilindri, boasts the cutting-edge 6.5-liter V12 engine rendition. This model remains one of the few remaining non-electrified V12s, though Carando acknowledged contemplating hybrid power integration for this luxurious touring vehicle.

“Our analysis indicates that an unassisted engine with supplementary electric elements tends to add bulk without significant performance enhancement, particularly for this class of vehicle,” he remarked.

It’s important to note that Ferrari’s forthcoming flagship supercar, anticipated to succeed the LaFerrari, is unlikely to feature a V12 powertrain.
