As the excitement builds for next week’s much-anticipated SEMA show in Las Vegas, automakers are showcasing their unique creations, highlighting the art of vehicle customization, from high-performance cars to off-road vehicles. Fiat-Chrysler recently introduced its latest high-performance concepts, collaborating with Mopar to develop an overland-ready Ram 1500 Rebel, along with a stylish 1968 Dodge D200 that offers more than just visual appeal.

### Ram 1500 Rebel OTG Concept

First up is the Ram 1500 Rebel OTG (Off The Grid) Concept, designed based on Ram’s most off-road capable half-ton model, equipped with everything needed for extended adventures away from urban life. This truck is powered by a third-generation 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine, boasting a 33-gallon fuel tank that allows for a range of over 1,000 miles on a single fill-up. It generates 480 pound-feet of torque at low revs, enhancing its ability to navigate challenging terrains.

The modifications on the Rebel OTG’s exterior are extensive, aimed at improving its off-road competency and user-friendliness for those looking to disconnect from daily routine. It features a two-inch suspension lift for added ground clearance, accommodating 35-inch Goodyear tires fitted on beadlock wheels. A snorkel intake enhances its ability to traverse water, while rock rails protect the truck’s doors and rocker panels. Additionally, a Mopar concept front bumper with an integrated winch is included for recovery situations, along with a custom rear bumper that improves the truck’s departure angle.

The bed of the Ram is outfitted with a rack system that supports a collapsible rooftop tent and a retractable 270-degree awning. A durable solar panel system powers onboard amenities, and within the 6.5-foot bed, a battery-powered cooler and a gas stove kitchen unit are tucked away neatly, ensuring optimal use of space – a key feature when preparing for several days outdoors.

### Mopar Lowliner Concept

On the other side of the spectrum lies Mopar’s second show truck, the Mopar Lowliner Concept. Dressed in a striking Candied Delmonico Red and Dairy Cream two-tone paint, this truck’s focus is primarily on aesthetics. Based on the 1968 Dodge D200 heavy-duty model, the Lowliner has been extensively modified for a perfect mix of style and performance, blending classic design elements with contemporary diesel power from its 5.9-liter Cummins engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The front axle has been repositioned three inches forward to enhance balance and proportions. This attention to detail is evident throughout the Lowliner, featuring a C-channeled rear and custom air suspension. The truck’s rugged appearance is completed with 22-inch wheels, and unique features like a shaved antenna, door handles, fuel filler cap, and badging draw inspiration from the 1960s car culture.

Inside, the cabin is adorned with custom-stitched Blazing Saddle Tan leather and equipped with a Mopar-designed gauge pack. Classic hot rod touches are evident, from the translucent metal-flake shift ball to the original steering wheel from 1968, finished in Dairy Cream.

Both the Ram 1500 Rebel OTG Concept and the Mopar Lowliner Concept are set to debut at the SEMA show, which runs from November 5 to November 8..
